Nest Architecture was founded in 1995 by Kip Kelly, AIA. Mr. Kelly
studied environmental design at the University of California at Berkeley
and received his degree in architecture in 1981. Kelly was profoundly
influenced by Berkeley professor, Joseph Esherick, and by the eclectic work of local Bay Area architect, Bernard Maybeck. The College of Environmental Design at Berkeley emphasized the responsibility of architecture to the user; function as a
bridge to beauty. The optimum functional solution becomes the framework for the aesthetics of the building. Kelly’s interest in the roots of early American architecture has brought the firm to Lebanon, Pennsylvania. Nest renovated a three-story brick building into a business center where the East Coast office is now located along with a number of other business occupants. The building, which is in the revitalized area of Downtown Lebanon, Pennsylvania, was renovated into New York loft-style offices for one and two-person occupancy.
Nest Architecture is architecture that strives to embrace the
human spirit in the digital age; not the cold, hard, modern architecture of the New York five, but a softer more organic version of contemporary
architecture. “Nest Architecture” is design with an edge that still speaks to our soul.
At Nest Architecture, Inc. we are firm believers that
architecture can make a difference in people’s lives. An exciting, uplifting retail environment can attract customers and help guarantee their return. A well organized, light-filled, monumental high school campus can create a more conducive environment to teach or study in. An open, airy waiting room can calm patients awaiting the doctor’s call. The home you wake up in each morning may be the most important of all. If you are considering a construction project for your home or
business,please give us a call.
