Operating as a design practice since 2006, Mountford Architects prides itself on quality, well considered architecture. Our design approach is one of international research and regional focus. We are interested in local modern architecture, the promotion of sustainable building practices and how the individual built object works with its environment. Our work has been published both locally and internationally and we were recently recognised at the West Australian Architecture Awards.
The principal architect, Ben Mountford, has extensive experience in high-end single residential development, alterations and additions and mixed-use residential projects both in Sydney and Perth. Furthermore before the study and practice of architecture Ben started his working life as a builder’s apprentice and thus possesses a broad understanding of construction.
The practice’s current portfolio of work covers a range of houses and renovations, commercial and mixed-use projects. Projects completed to date include new homes in Attadale and Maylands as well as several alterations and additions from Claremont to North Perth. The practice’s studio is based right in the heart of Perth’s vibrant Northbridge precinct, near the corner of Aberdeen and William Streets.
