MOFA Studio is a collective of optimistic non-conformists who champion possibility over rigidity. Working across the realms of urbanism, architecture, interiors, and products, the practice questions fixed systems that limit human potential, challenges binary thinking that oversimplifies lived experience, and refuses hierarchies that constrain rather than enable. This stance is rooted in the conviction that fluidity creates the essential conditions for life to adapt, evolve, and thrive in ways rigid frameworks simply cannot accommodate.
Founded in 2007 by architect Manish Gulati, the studio has pioneered fluid architecture through computational design in India. With strong in-house research and construction management capabilities, the practice has delivered over 250 projects, spanning institutional campuses for private and government entities, sports infrastructure, hospitality, housing, and high-end residential sectors. Landmark projects include NIFT Kangra in Himachal Pradesh, Golden Tusk Resort in Uttarakhand, NIWS Goa, MP State Equestrian Academy and Hockey Academy in Madhya Pradesh, Cafe Delhi Heights in Delhi, and installations such as Penseive and Urbanscape. Their work has been recognised nationally and internationally with over 75 awards, including including Top 50 Architectural Firms by A+D (India, 2025), InDesign Inde Awards Shortlist (2025), The Plan Award Shortlist (2024), India Today Top 10 Influential Entrepreneurs of the Year (2022), The Merit List Shortlist (2020-21), Cityscape Awards (2015), Architecture Digest’s 50 Most Influential Names in Architecture & Design (India, 2015), NDTV’s Socially Relevant Design of the Year (2015), Dubai International Cityscape Awards for Emerging Markets (2013).
