The firm's design work has been widely published, including numerous features in Architectural Digest, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Interior Design Magazine, Architectural Record, New York Magazine, Architecture, Contract Magazine, Departures and The East Hampton Star, as well as video features on NBC's "Open House" and Plum TV's "Special Spaces".
Projects have been recognized for design through awards from the New York and Connecticut chapters of the American Institute of Architects, the Congress for the New Urbanism, Brick Industry Association, and the Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture, and have been included on tours by the Museum of Modern Art and local historical societies.
Current projects include a new mixed-use building in Manhattan, a four-story penthouse in Greenwich Village, a house for a fashion designer in Manhattan, a house on twenty acres in East Hampton, two waterfront houses in East Hampton and one in Southampton, a family compound on the water in Darien, Connecticut, a house in Beverly Hills, California, and a monument in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Michael Haverland interned at Venturi, Scott Brown and Associates, after attending Rice University. Upon graduating from the Yale School of Architecture, he was hired at age twenty seven to join the faculty, teaching design at Yale College and urban design at the Graduate School. He also Co-Directed the Yale Urban Design Workshop (UDW), a community design center based at the School.
