Founded in 2002 on the island of Formentera by architect Mr. Marià Castelló (1976), the studio was conceived as
a small workshop of ideas, an intimate space where architecture and landscape are understood as a close
and artisanal craft. Over the years, various professionals have contributed to its journey, always within the spirit
of a practice on a human scale. Since 2017, with the incorporation of Lorena Ruzafa, the team has consisted
solely of two architects working in close harmony.
The vital connection with Formentera inspires the desire to intervene in its territory in a conscious, thoughtful
and respectful way. The richness of the island’s natural and architectural heritage —its essential beauty,
austerity, humility and profound sincerity— has become a set of values that permeates every project. From this
perspective, the studio embraces a deliberately modest format, enabling the development of a small number
of works each year, approached with intensity and care.
The practice is conceived as a transversal exercise, where diverse disciplines converge: heritage, landscape,
housing, public facilities, interior and product design, sustainability, research and teaching.
This commitment has been recognised in numerous European and international forums: finalist in the European
Award for Architectural Heritage Intervention (2017), finalist in the XIV Spanish Biennial of Architecture (2018),
finalist in the FAD Awards (2017), winner of the National NAN Award (2018), winner of the European Best
Architects ’20 Award (2019), nominee for the EU Mies van der Rohe Award (2022), and recipient of the Ramon
Llull Prize of the Balearic Islands (2023), among others. Numerous publications and exhibitions have
disseminated its work worldwide, consolidating a trajectory in which architecture, place and time are interwoven
into a single narrative.
