He graduates in architecture at the University of Milan in 1977. After a period of apprenticeship with prof. Vittoriano Viganò and a stage at Gregotti Associati, he opens his own office in Erba (Co).
Since 2000 to 2004 he is professor of Architectural Theory and Structural Design at the University of Architecture of Ferrara. Since 2004 to 2014 he is professor of Architectural Design at Politecnico di Torino. In 2010 he has been invited to the international seminar of architecture of Monte Carasso (Ch) direct by Luigi Snozzi.
He is president of the Archivio Cattaneo from 2009 to 2012 and since 2016. He has been invited as architectural critic at the Academy of Architecture of Mendrisio (Ch), Politecnico di Milano and Politecnico di Torino.
He has been awarded a prize in several contests. He won the 2nd prize of the Association of Building Constructors of Lecco in 1990 and the 3rd prize offered by the magazine Riabita in 1994. He won the Magistri Comacini Award in 1994, 2001, 2016; his works have been selected in the same contest in 1997-1999-2001-2005-2007-2012.
