LABORstudio is a design firm with a multidisciplinary practice in architecture, landscape architecture, urban design, urban planning and construction based in Chihuahua, Chihuahua, Mexico and Tempe, Arizona, USA. It was originally founded in year 2002 as DI+EZ Architects by Rodrigo Seáñez Quevedo and Gabriel Diaz Montemayor. The firm evolves as LABOR Studio since 2007 when principals Gabriel and Adriana Ramos Hinojos, the newest principal, move to Tempe establishing a constant bridge between both cities and regions. In Chihuahua City the firm has maintained a team led by Rodrigo as director and Victor Mendoza Cardoza, LABORs associate partner. The development of our studio has naturally targeted the desert environments shared by Mexico and the USA, something determined by the constant academic and professional activity of its principals. LABOR seeks to understand places in the widest sense of the concept, involving physical, cultural, environmental and economic factors on each and every one of the projects we work on. This approach is the central axis between precedents and responses on which we concentrate our efforts trying to improve the articulated relationships between architecture, urbanism and nature.
