K4 formally launched in 2010 with the announcement that we had
already secured a portfolio of prestigious projects totalling more than £50
million. We have become known for being the practice of choice for those seeking
original, engaging and innovative design and delivery.
The principals of the practice have an unparalleled
track record in planning the most complex sites and buildings. Through rigorous
testing, modelling and simulation, the practice makes the most of any
opportunity. K4 adopt a systematic approach to projects ensuring targets are
met, whether these are time, cost or quality. They have developed particular
expertise in dealing with sites and buildings with challenging physical,
planning, heritage and economic constraints.
The practice’s ethos is proving a winning approach, with a
portfolio already including projects as varied as an exclusive private residence
in Belgravia, barn conversions in rural Warwickshire, a new Hindu Community
Centre in Coventry and the redesign of Mere Green Town Centre. K4 are the
retained architects for the Central Fire Station project in Birmingham, which is
regarded as one of the most complex and challenging heritage projects in the UK.
Alongside this, K4 are passionate about creating places for people, and have
invested in such as Edible Eastside, an adjacent community garden for
experimental urban growing within the heart of the Warwick Bar regeneration
area.
