Established in 2004 by the current directors; Christian O’Halloran & Michelle Jacobson, the practice of JOH Architects thrives on the concept of maximizing the integration of architecture into the real world. While we do not hope to reinvent the wheel, we do hope to offer solutions that will discover the full potential of each project we undertake. We hope to assist our clients to facilitate an architectural interpretation they would not achieve on their own.With each project comes a unique set of circumstances; Site, Budget and Authority requirements; along with a client’s brief. Our mission is to uphold the experience, knowledge and resources required to facilitate the realization of each of our individual client’s vision.Our practice has extensive experience in dealing with inner city councils and the challenges that come with complicated site and neighbourhood requirements. Our experience has been attained through a broad range of projects including; Residential, Multi residential, Retail, Commercial & Municipal. However, we have created a particular niche in rural and environmental design and provide no limitation on site location. Having undertaken projects in practically all corners of Victoria; our reach has also extended to projects interstate and as far as the Shanxi region in central rural China.Our design philosophy has been influenced by the philosophy of the early modern master, Frank Lloyd Wright and can be summarized through the following ideology – ‘The balance of form and function is paramount’. Our solutions will be justified in both their aesthetic values and operational qualities equally and together.We achieve great results through our focus on High-Quality, Modern and Environmental Design principals, solutions for today’s world. Through research and education we challenge to maintain connection with the latest technology, product and material available to facilitate the best possible outcome for each project we undertake.With this approach we have achieved numerous great outcomes.
