Hawaii Off-Grid (HIOG) is dedicated to building a better world—one project at a time—through thoughtful design, technical innovation, and deeply sustainable solutions. Our work challenges conventional building practices, encouraging a more conscious relationship with the environment without compromising comfort, beauty, or livability.
By integrating both passive and active strategies, we create architecture that is climate-responsive, efficient, and enduring. Our team thoughtfully weaves together environmental context, aesthetics, advanced technology, and performance-driven modeling tools to deliver buildings that are as high-performing as they are inspiring.
Research and development are central to our practice. We continuously explore new methods for incorporating renewable energy systems, carbon-conscious materials, and advanced efficiency strategies into the built environment. All new HIOG projects are designed to achieve, at minimum, Net Zero performance—with a strong preference for Net Positive or fully Off-Grid solutions. We strive to create buildings with little to no carbon footprint, and whenever possible, projects that actively sequester carbon.
This rigorous and forward-thinking approach places Hawaii Off-Grid at the forefront of regenerative architecture. As we continue to push boundaries and redefine what responsible design can be, our goal is not only to lead—but to inspire others to build differently.
For us, building a better world is not a tagline. It is the foundation of every decision we make and the driving force behind our team and our clients.
