Giulietti Schouten Weber Architects is a Portland-based architecture firm designing unique, client-driven projects throughout the Pacific Northwest and nationally. Founded by Dave Giulietti, AIA in 1987, and joined by partners Tim Schouten, AIA in 1993, and Jake Weber, AIA in 2013, the firm builds on their 35+ years of experience creating places for people that value the significance of design. Having completed hundreds of residential and light-commercial buildings, the foundation of our success comes from listening to our clients and their goals in order to create beautiful and functional architecture that makes a difference in their lives.
Managing a small firm has allowed the principals to maintain close relationships with team members and all design aspects of each project. We look to expand the design horizons of our clients and create unique spaces for their specific needs. We believe that the success of each project is highly dependent on a strong communication between the architect and client. While being best known for our residential and specialized housing projects, we continue to be called upon to design a variety of building types including theaters, schools, religious and church facilities, restaurants, retail, and offices.
We are currently licensed to practice architecture in Oregon, Washington, and California, and are available to work anywhere nationally. The present firm is a synthesis of the special abilities of principals Tim Schouten, AIA, and Jake Weber, AIA, associate Steven Glassman, AIA, and designers Tony Hasenberg, Drew Stricker, Sam Ruddell, and Ross Allen, with administrative support from Saketa Dixon-Alkhudheer. We celebrated our 35th anniversary in 2022 and look forward to continuing our vision into the future.
GSW/A believes architects have a responsibility to affect change in how we use buildings and consume energy. And as such, we are committed to improving our design process and business operations in order to implement energy reducing strategies across all aspects of the firm. As part of this effort, we have joined the AIA 2030 Commitment in 2021, hereby accepting the 2030 Challenge that all new buildings and major renovations our firm designs will be carbon neutral by 2030 and will eliminate use of fossil fuel or greenhouse gas-emitting energy to operate.
