Filipe Mónica Arquitectos is a Lisbon based architectural office.
Filipe Mónica, born in 1972, graduated in architecture at Faculdade de Arquitectura de Lisboa in 1996. After that he worked in the studios of Gonçalo Byrne and Aires Mateus. In 2001 he founded his own studio.
His architectural works include several scale and type of commissions, as well as collaborations with other architects.
Between 2010 and 2014 he was a consultant at the Portuguese Architectural Council (Ordem dos Arquitectos), and Between 2014 and 2015 he was Professor at ISCTE-IUL university and Lusófona University, both in Lisbon. He has also been regularly invited to be a part of architectural school juries.
Since 2012 he is a Phd candidate at ISCTE-IUL university.
His work has been published in several books and magazines. He received the National Rehabilitation Awards for the Best Intervention in Lisbon and Best Energy Efficiency (2016) and the Construir Prize for Environmental Sustainability (2016).
