Born in 1958 in Milan, Farinatti graduated in architecture in 1984 under professor Marco Zanuso when his department was called “Artistic Design for Industry.” He began his professional career during his studies by working as a freelancer for prestigious creative studios and ateliers in Milan from whom he gained a great deal of experience. In 1985, he founded the Triplano Associati studio for architectural and industrial design projects. In 1992 and 1994, he “created” his absolute greatest works: Federico and Luca. In 1997, he transferred his base of operations in Brianza, opening his studio in Merate. He has taught Industrial Design at the International College of Design and Arts, the Camera della Moda and Scuola Politecnica di Design. He has been a member of ADI (Association for Industrial Design) since 1983, has been a member of the Arbitration Committee and since 2009 has been on the planning committee for Designers. Since 2011 has been on the board of ADI Lombardy and has been the Coordinator of ADI Design Permanent Observatory of Lombardy. His way of working is characterized by his attention to people, the honesty of his design and a strong innovative bent. Over time he has begun to specialise in wellness, and this has brought him to work with the biggest companies in the industry in order to create new types of products as well as new ways of living in the domestic environment. His ability to combine the vision of the present and the aspirations of the user with manufacturing realities and available technological resources makes for products that look to a better future. The sensibility with which he takes on a project makes for objects and spaces that not only have a strong innovative sense but are destined to last over time.
