ERA is a Chicago-based architecture studio founded by Eric Rothfeder in 2016.
We believe that the design process begins with curiosity, and that this eagerness to learn is most productive when it is shared between architect and client. We like to ask questions, we like to solve problems, and we like to collaborate. Most of all, we want our work to express the knowledge and experience of the people that use, design and build our surroundings.
Eric Rothfeder, AIA, LEED, is a licensed architect in Illinois and an Adjunct Professor at the College of Architecture at the Illinois Institute of Technology. He received a B.A. with Distinction from Yale University and an M.Arch from Princeton University. His research and design projects have been exhibited at the BSA Space in Boston, the Storefront for Art and Architecture, and the Fondazione Sandretto in Italy; and published in Domus, Bidoun, La Vanguardia (Barcelona) and Competitions Magazine. Prior to founding his own studio, Eric worked at the offices of Diller Scofidio + Renfro and LevenBetts, where he designed and managed a wide range of award-winning residential, commercial and cultural projects.
