DEMO is a design team based in Brooklyn, NY, dedicated to the fields of architecture and interior design with a particular focus on energy-efficient buildings and environmentally responsible design.
Founded by Daniel Kidd and Alessandro Ronfini in 2017 after working for several years at BIG in Copenhagen and NY.
Examples of projects currently in progress include a passive mass timber 6-story building built over an existing firehouse in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, and a tiny house in Cushing, ME.
Some of the projects in construction are a 5,500 sf glass house over a cliff in Stone Ridge, NY, an office for a startup in San Francisco, CA, a net zero home on a lake in Lake Owassa, NJ, several low energy and Passive Houses in Upstate NY and an energy efficient renovation and addition to a stone house in Hurley, NY.
Completed projects consist of several houses, with a number of them achieving the Passive House certification. Our award-winning and featured Olive House in Olivebridge, NY, Stella House in Maine, and a 6,000 sf, 5-story brownstone in Brooklyn Heights.
DEMO’s work has been featured in Dwell Magazine, Architectural Digest, Reveal Magazine, and Downeast magazine.
