Hitoshi SARUTA
Born in 1971 in Matsumoto, Nagano, Japan. After graduating from Yokohama National University with a degree in Business Administration, Saruta honed his craft as a carpenter and site manager for three years. He then joined an architectural firm, where he gained hands-on experience with residential and commercial projects, before founding CUBO design architect in 2004. A passionate violinist in his youth, Saruta transitioned from carpentry to architecture through self-study and lived experience. His distinctive career path-from builder to architect-has shaped his deeply original and highly personal approach to each project, earning the trust and respect of clients. Today, his work is recognized not only in Japan, but internationally in countries such as Italy, the United States, India, Vietnam, and Costa Rica.
