CEL mission as a unique professional nonprofit (501c3) is to contribute to City’s built environment, the standard of living, and culture by educating and cultivating a better understanding of the critical role art, architecture, planning, design, and technology play in improving quality of life, livability, and equitable, sustainable economic development in our neighborhoods, and cities through exhibitions, lectures, workshops, and film. CEL is a storefront, a think-tank, a creative commons, a forum that engages the general public with the built environment professionals and public art artists.
CEL Studio-LAB: is a professional Public Interest Design (PID) studio that is committed to providing Art, Architecture, Design, Planning technical services for the greater good by design –the other 90% and to under-served and under-invested neighborhoods. CEL practices Integrated Design Principles (IDP) and PID (Public Interest Technology) and is committed to the UN’s 17 SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals).
