commoncraft is an architectural design practice based out of Brooklyn, New York. Our design approach is defined by an interest in and concern for how everyday spaces are made. We thoroughly examine the material contexts in which we work and experiment with the material processes that will bring each project to life—our designs emerge from this holistic material understanding. Further, we strive to work both with and within the unique constraints (e.g., economic, social, and environmental) of each project and view such constraints as integral to the outcome of our work. We believe that the role of the contemporary architect is not solely to create more but also to creatively use the limits that already exist.
