An artistic composition of materials and objects pasted over a surface, often with unifying lines and colors.
We aspire to create architectural compositions overlapping function, form, nature, texture, color, scale unified with space.
Having graduated from Goa in 2001, Swapnil Valvatkar and Arunkumar T.D. along with Adwitha Suvarna, who graduated from Bangalore in 2002, formed the firm in 2009 after training in Chandavarkar and Thacker Architects Pvt. Ltd and later working with eminent architect, Sanjay Mohe in Bangalore on projects of varying scales and typologies for over 8 years. Since the formation of the firm, the architects have successfully designed and completed several projects for which they have received recognition and accolades over the years.
Collage is a young bunch of enthusiastic people always open to fresh and new ideas, experimenting new concepts with a common vision to carve out inspiring spaces which strongly emphasize a symbiotic relationship with the natural environment. The design approach is primarily space driven, wherein; the form is a derivation of these spaces.
The team revolves around the principles of sharing knowledge, learning from each other, celebrating each others’ success, sharing failures and growing together. We follow a strong interactive process in every stage of our design and construction.
PHILOSOPHY
Their philosophy focuses on evolving an idea into a built form. Every project of ours stems from a strong concept, which is the soul of the design. Technology is solely used to enhance the concept, which plays a vital role in realizing the design.
IDEOLOGY AND APPROACH A good design embodies a great idea. It is one that is not complex, but simple. Their ideology lies in respecting nature and integrating nature seamlessly with our spaces such that the design is one with nature. Our rich architectural heritage has inspired them largely and they consistently try and reinterpret traditional elements in a contemporary language.
