Caterina
Tiazzoldi is a NY / Torino architect. Her work is characterized by the
development of highly innovative spatial concepts, deriving from a strong
interaction between research and practice. Caterina Tiazzoldi is the Director
of the research unit NSU at the Design School of the Columbia University in her
recent works she explores the relation between users experience and the
transformation of today's city.
Her awarding winning
practice and research was nominated by the National Cooper Hewitt Museum in New
York, and was finalist at the Premio Renzo Piano for Young Italian talents. Her
work methodology performative modulation permits to create unique spatial
concepts focused in the definition of new boundary in users experience.
Caterina
Tiazzoldi work has been presented in several museums and exhibitions, such as
Honor Guest for the 50th anniversary of the Milano Furniture Fair, in the Paris
Museum Cite’ de l’Architecture et du Patrimoine, at the Portuguese Biennal
Experimenta Design and the Torino Design World Capital. These all have been
published in several international magazines (Domus, Interni, Vanity Fair,
Elle, Frame, Surface) and books as well (Taschen, Gestalten, Thames and Hudson)
She teaches at
Columbia University New York, Politecnico di Torino, Domus Accademy, Ied Torino
and Sao Paulo.
