We are Juan Pablo & Catalina. We founded CÂPÂ in 2015 a small studio located in the countryside of Medellín on a beautiful green mountain. We are both architects from Medellin; Juan has been a teacher at the Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana UPB and at the moment is teaching at Eafit University. He has a master degree in Urban and environmental processes from Eafit. Catalina has a specialist degree in Complexity Architecture from the University of Alicante and has also been a teacher at UPB and Eafit Universities.
We are a small studio located in the countryside of Medellín on a beautiful green mountain. In the last few years our studio has focused its practice on single housing projects.
As a studio, we seek to have ethical fair wages and working conditions, putting great effort into working with local manufacturing, and sustainable processes.
We are not interested in flat ideas. We create projects that might build a new topography and a single relationship with the landscape, sloping roofs and cristal walls are part of them. Some of them start from a modular piece to create flexible spaces, multiple configurations and facilitate building processes.
We think each project is unique and the construction process is made in an artisanal way. Our manufacturing and supplies are local, we work hand in hand with artisans who participate in the development of our projects. We like to work with noble and natural materials and use them in a raw way; concrete, wood, metal, brick are some of them. We care about the details and we are always creating new ways to resolve them.
