Bruce Stafford Architects is an award winning practice based in Sydney, Australia.
Formed in 1980 in South Africa by principal Bruce Stafford, BSA has been responsible for the design and construction of over 200 projects in Australia, Africa and the Caribbean. The firm’s first eco-boutique hotels, Singita Ebony and Singita Boulders, received critical acclaim and numerous awards including Conde Nast Traveller’s “Best Hotel in the World” and Travel and Leisure magazine’s “Best Hotel in the World”.
In 2001, Bruce relocated the office to Australia due to a number of client commissions for private residences along Sydney’s waterfront. In the past decade, the practice portfolio has grown to include a number of distinctive and prestigious properties in the Eastern Suburbs.
BSA’s designs are underpinned by three main sources of inspiration: the “genius loci” or “spirit of place”, the use of natural materials and the desire to create seductive spaces. Equally renowned for their distinctive touch as well as a collaborative approach, BSA’s designs are always reflective of their client’s needs and desires.
Priding itself on a reputation for personal service, every project is approached with enthusiasm, commitment and integrity. Recognising that success is not only measured by captivating design but also by programmatic achievement, every project benefits from extensive planning as well as an acute attention to detail. The BSA team is skilled in all aspects of the development process, from initial design to final construction, including extensive experience working with local authorities and a range of design consultants.
Bruce Stafford Architects is dedicated to creating finely crafted buildings and interiors that are valued by our clients and the wider community.
