Combining her passion for design and construction knowledge Felicia established Barron Custom Design, LLC in 2003. She felt that Architecture was really about the relationships. Relationships with the client, with the builder and with the land... and how important design is in problem solving. Many times the biggest "problem" in design is how to satisfy the clients' dreams and goals while staying within a budget, whether the budget is $500k or $5M. Her construction knowledge helps her guide her clients through the design process to achieve that end. Felicia values the relationships with her clients and their referrals have allowed her to organically grow her business.
Felicia B. Foster was raised in a family that had a hand in building Austin from the ground up. At a young age she would visit the real estate office of her grandfather, the landscape architecture office of her uncle and watch her dad sculpt a raw piece of land for development. She knew she wanted to be a part of the built environment and decided that her focus would be in residential architecture.
While attending the University of Texas, she worked for a well-established Architecture firm and quickly took over as Project Manager of the largest builder account. She established relationships in the industry, which would continue decades later. She left the Architecture firm to pursue a position as Director of Design Development for a local homebuilder where she could learn more about the construction side of a design.
Felicia spends her time in Central Texas with her husband and daughter. She has donated her design skills and time to Casas for CASA (Advocates for children in the court), Habitat for Humanity, Doug's House (a local AIDS Hospice) and Mobile Loaves and Fishes Community First! (Development to house the homeless) and volunteering for St. Judes Children's Hospital, Austin chapter.
