Curiosity is the common thread that runs through everything we do. The question 'what if?' recurs constantly throughout our design process leading us to investigate, experiment and learn. Our goal is to produce work that is intuitive, humane, tactile, sensuous, playful and inventive.Like many practices, our initial work has been for private domestic clients and we have enjoyed the way that limited budgets, listed building issues together with tight physical constraints and client visions have forced us to be rigorous, while creating something new and unexpected.Architecture is about the people we design for and with. We have been lucky that our clients so far have been prepared to follow us down a design path that is individual both to the practice and their brief. We do a lot of work around the fringes of architecture, working and talking with sculptors, product designers and specialist fabricators who assist in answering some of the 'what ifs?' while precipitating a multitude more. Each project is a new conversation which develops through the various stages of design and manufacture and we often find that ideas, approaches and ways of making have an infectious tendency to spill over from one to another and filter between the differing scales of work we do.
