Bánáti + Hartvig Architecture Studio is a significant character on the Hungarian architectural stage. Determinant buildings of Budapest’s architectural character are related to its name, the office is commissioned in significant investments. General designer work of public buildings, residential buildings, hotels, shopping centers and industrial buildings and several heritage building reconstructions were carried out by the office. Besides the Gerbeaud Office building and the renovation of the Drechsler-palace, the János Neumann University Campus in Kecskemét, the German School building in Budapest, and the residency building of the German, the French and the Indian Embassy are also works of BH.
Significant, internationally renowned architectural offices prefer to establish cooperation as a partner with BH, when they are looking for a well-organised and reliably operating designer office, which is informed well and experienced in local specialities and in the regulations. This way BH already received a cooperation-request from Bjarke Ingels Group, together with whom BH participated in the competition plan of the Hungarian Technical- and Transport Museum, and in the recent past BH prepared together with the Japanese architecture office SANAA the plans of the New National Gallery.
BH architecture office – as the office’s catchphrase says – designs today the buildings for tomorrow: creating sustainable, innovative, socially sensitive architecture. The office is committed to sustainable development, therefore strives to design durable, environmentally friendly and lovable buildings. The plans of the buildings created by BH respect their environment and increase their niveau, respond to the far-reaching ambitions of the developing municipalities, and provide comfortable and healthy residential- and working environment.
