Austin McFarland.Architects is a Wingham based practice of Russell McFarland, Carolyn (Austin) McFarland and Dylan Wood. We do not specialise in any one particular area with much of our work derived from the full spectrum of development types that are generated in a rural area. Our work to date has included single family houses, school projects, including both primary and secondary schools, beachside apartments, resort buildings and pools, retail and commercial premises, medical facilities, and land-use master planning. Our work has evolved through regional practice and reflects the intricate connections and relationships to this place, it is not just about design. Our processes are strongly influence by the notion of ‘making’ buildings and through the tight but expressive palette of materials we primarily use.
