ARCO was founded by a group of young engineers and architects who think of architecture as the resolution of ongoing problems through an aesthetic interpretation of reality and the constant search for sustainability in architectural design. This approach has led ARC to work through their own skills with the world of international cooperation to address emergency situations in which the architecture can provide an effective contribution.
Following a successful initial project in Mozambique in 2007, sponsored by Earth Wind Onlus, the group is enlarged and is as such in 2009, thanks to the need for new projects in Palestine, also promoted by Earth Wind Onlus.
Sustainability is declined in a social sense through the research of techniques suited to the specific place where it occurs, allowing for self-building by the inhabitants, in an economic sense through the choice of techniques for recycling and use of poor materials, in sense the environment through the use of renewable energy sources and bioclimatic architectural principles with passive mode. A fundamental objective of any project is to transmit knowledge and skills through a process of conscious reappropriation of techniques and principles to be always present in places where it operates.
ARC was formed by Albert Alcalde, Alessio Battistella, Carmine Chiarelli, Marazzi Valentina, Claudia Romano, Diego Torriani, Luca Trabattoni.
