The architectural firm Stefan Gamper, based in Klausen (South Tyrol), was founded in 2000 by architect Stefan Gamper. After completing his studies in architecture at the Technical University of Graz, he gained professional experience at several design offices before establishing his own practice. Gamper further deepened his expertise in timber construction in 2009 by earning a Master of Engineering at Rosenheim University of Applied Sciences. Today, the office comprises five team members: Stefan Gamper himself, three technicians, and an additional architect.
Each project emerges from a meticulous engagement with nature, culture, and tradition—always in dialogue with innovation, creativity, and economic responsibility. This approach yields buildings that reflect the character of their location while harmoniously integrating into their surroundings. Design clarity, structural integrity, and precision, along with the deliberate use of local materials, form the foundation of the studio’s design philosophy.
The firm’s portfolio spans single-family homes, residential complexes, and hotels, as well as farmsteads, public buildings, fire stations, and district heating facilities, with a pronounced focus on interior design—complemented by a range of other architectural undertakings. All projects share a commitment to the highest standards of design and functionality, with the needs of occupants and users always at the forefront.
