7xa Taller de Arquitectura is an architecture firm founded and
co-directed by the architects: Angel Lopez and Carlos Ortiz, from 1999. In
2003 they obtained a nomination to “CEMEX Building Award” in the single
family housing category by the Corcega house. In 2005 they obtained an
Honorable Mention in the “XIII Bienal de Arquitectura de Nuevo León” and in the
following editions, XIV and XV, they got the “Calli de Cristal”, equivalent
to the first prize.
In 2008 they were selected by OBRAS magazine, as one of “the ten best
Mexican architecture firms of the year”. In 2009 they won the first prize in the
competition “Zócalo 11 de Julio”, the civic square in Tijuana, Mexico.
In 2011 they were finalists in the Future Projects category
at the World Architecture Festival with "11TH
JULY MAIN SQUARE" and they got an Honorable Mention at
the “XVI Bienal de Arquitectura de Nuevo León” with ROLMEX Corporate Building.
Its work had been showed in several publications and exhibitions in
Mexico and other countries. They had given lectures in diferents universities
in Mexico.
