3C Architecture and Urbanism was established in Porto Alegre in 1999, as the result of a multidisciplinary association of professionals committed to qualify urban and rural environment through architecture, urban design and planning technical services.
Its name comes from the motto to create, construct and conserve, giving rise to five principles that guide its operations since its founding: environmental responsibility, cultural development, entrepreneurial attitude, social commitment and professionalism.
Founded from the association of six architects in 1999, it adopted a network work system in 2007, leveraging its ability to work with independent professionals on different geographical locations. In 2014 3C consolidated its composition with architects Tiago Holzmann da Silva, Leonardo Damiani Poletti, Leonardo Marques Hortencio and Alexandre Pereira Santos, intensifying its regional presence and establishing new development agenda to strengthen its presence in urban plans and projects.
The practice currently has a wide range of professionals (as partners, consultants or collaborators) with experience and proven to work on plans, projects and consultancies in the areas of sustainability, construction economics, environmental education, permaculture, energy resources rationalization, mobility, urban infrastructure, habitability, heritage, conservation and restoration, strategic urban and regional planning, fundraising, technical education and training and participatory work.
Its team has had urban and rural environmental issues present in their designs since the company was founded, long before the current consensus on sustainability reached Brasil. Likewise, the team integrates participatory processes in its methodology effectively, developing its activities in partnership with local people and promoting architecture and urbanism as tools for quality of life and sustainability as a necessary condition for the future.
3C has the intention to continue working collectively aggregating professionals interested and committed to the quality of architecture and urbanism in cities, as well as to the environment.
