practice committed to architectural design and urban planning as well as
researching and analysing contemporary processes in both fields. The office was founded in 1994 by three
architects – Markus Kaasik, Andres Ojari and Ilmar Valdur – all graduated from
the Faculty of Architecture, Estonian Academy of Arts in the same year, 1992.
All three are teaching architecture at the Academy of Arts as well.
Right
from the start 3+1 architects have actively taken part in architectural
competitions in Estonia as well as abroad.
3+1 architects distinct strategy for competition
projects as well as for other works is to co-operate with other architects
outside their own. The variation of a project team is more project-centred and
flexible way of dealing with the ever-different design problems.
