2 plus 3 ARCHITECTS p.c. delivers more than two decades of architectural experience. Principals Heather Roslund and A.J. Loeffler worked together first with Loeffler, Johansen, Bennett Architects, 1984 through 1999, and then with Brooklyn Architects Collective, from 1999 through April of 2006. The firm continues to focus on the experience of built form through the design and construction of residences, workplaces and institutional facilities.
The firm's portfolio includes workplaces for governmental entities and small, privately held companies. Its institutional projects include educational, studio, exhibition and cafeteria facilities. Its residential projects range from single family custom homes, new and old, to NYC multiple dwellings, both ground-up buildings and gut rehabilitations. 2 plus 3 ARCHITECTS p.c. also works at the urban scale, with continuing involvement at the community planning level, as well as the creation of award winning commissioned and competition design studies.
2 plus 3 ARCHITECTS p.c. has a singular approach, rather than a singular style. Its projects reflect this process in their diversity of imagery, their specificity of fit and their variety of scope. Every project of the firm is managed and run by both principals, with continuous, day-to-day involvement in all project phases, from conception through completion. Sustainable practice has been the firm's everyday method of working since 1984.
The clients of 2 plus 3 ARCHITECTS p.c. benefit from a dialog informed by the primacy of the project goals worked out in the context of site, program and budget. The firm returns to first principles with every project, evaluating each on its own unique terms to arrive at a self-definition in built form. This process begins with the initial analysis and continues through design, documentation, construction and occupancy.
The firm has long-standing working partnerships with respected teams of consulting structural, mechanical and electrical engineers and integrates those disciplines to produce a complete and coordinated set of construction documents. Through experienced construction-phase leadership, the firm maintains tight administration of the construction phase and has consistently delivered well-conceived and well-finished projects for its clients.
