This Waterfront Park in Shenzhen is Urban Design’s Answer to Rising Seas and Climate Change

Guiwan Park in Shenzhen is the first “water finger” in the Qianhai Water City plan by James Corner Field Operations, designed to combine city life with water-focused sustainability.

Covering 2.2 kilometers, the park features seawater and freshwater wetlands, along with areas for sports, leisure and nature exploration, supporting over 100 species.

With its design, Guiwan Park showcases how cities can adapt to climate change, offering a balance between urban development and natural green spaces for residents.
