Maritime Design: This Library Is Inspired by the Local Shipbuilding Industry

The new Mawei Shipbuilding Library by WJ Design has become the central hub for shipbuilding culture in this city.

The design looks back on the region’s rich history of shipbuilding and shipping while also looking towards the future with a public library that will be used by generations to come. WJ Design used the ship structure as a guiding element, transforming the library into “an ark sailing in the wave of culture.”
