CPLUS Architects Conceptualized This Museum as a Peaceful Piece of Land Art

Architizer Editors Architizer Editors

The LAB Art Museum is the main exhibition venue designed by CPLUS Architects for the 2019 Wulong Lanba Land Art Festival. As the most significant building in a series of exhibitions during the festival, the architecture itself acts as a piece of land art; the firm applied just little construction to the mountainous natural landscape, making people re-focus their attention to the natural scenery nearby.

CPLUS is an architecture firm based in Bejing and co-founded by Cheng Yanchun and Li Nan in 2014, and was a finalist in the Best Young Firm category of the 10th Annual A+Awards. CPLUS believes that architecture aims to create a medium for dialogue between people and the environment. The firm hopes to explore the possibilities of future architecture by combining modern ways of expression and technology while inheriting the natural philosophy and traditional spatial wisdom of the East.
