The DY Patil University Centre of Excellence offers learning and living spaces for 3,000 students, highlighted by a sky garden with native plants and relaxation areas.

The School of Business features elements grouped around multi-storey communal courtyards, maximizing natural daylight on the triangular site. An open reception, exhibition space, café and workspace promote student interactions. Central to the building are four large auditoria, set around a sunken amphitheatre, designed for adaptability based on event size.

The initial four storeys are academic-focused, while the top five levels accommodate student and faculty residences. The building’s cladding shifts from a solid base for the academic section to lightweight aluminium for the residential areas.

Emphasizing sustainability, the design reduces environmental impacts. It employs shading for energy efficiency, allows daylight while managing glare and utilizes wind tower ventilation. Water consumption is minimized and an eco-friendly concrete mix reduces the structure’s carbon footprint.
