As part of the “Walking Anew!” of USAID / ASHA, the new annex building for the Science of Rehabilitation Faculty at Don Bosco University seeks to raise treatment standards and transform the lives of women, people with physical disabilities in El Salvador and in Latin America, by training the next generation of medical practitioners in rehabilitation and that they can help them to give them mobility again.

Meanwhile, the design was made with sustainability as a priority. More than 80% of existing trees were maintained, and more than 50 new trees were planted. The modulated design reduces material waste, as does the use of recycled and other waste materials. Likewise, water usage and energy efficiency as well as indoor air quality were all taken into account.

B100arquitectos is a sustainable design studio based in El Salvador, dedicated to bettering the built environment through sustainable design and construction. The studio designs resilient projects that contribute to the health and wellness of its inhabitants and that have a minimal impact on the environment. The A+Award-winning firm has as its mission to give creative, unique designs that are aesthetically pleasing, environmentally economic and socially sustainable.
