Artist Andrés Ferrandis worked alongside the architect to create the Woodcrest residence’s signature aluminum grills that screens the house from the neighboring street and the setting sun, while still allowing for visibility from the interior. It was crucial to use few materials for the holistic and minimalist approach KZ Architecture believes in maintaining. To retain simplicity and elegance, the architect employs limestone, stucco, glass, metal, tile, and wood, all renewable and non-toxic, used in balanced measures to enforce aesthetic unity. Energy and water are used efficiently in the project as supplementary sustainability practices. The tones are light, neutral, and organic, with moments of vibrant accents for bold contrast in both the exterior and interior design.
