The project is a sushi restaurant in a historic and residential neighborhood of Lisbon, Campo de Ourique.
The space consists in approximately 50 m2, three meters in height and two big facades of glass.
The two fundamental conditions for the intervention were the small space and the low cost budget . These two assumptions led to a willingness of a simple space with something strong or diferent that could create a new experience to live in.
The intervention consists in taking advantage of the glass facades and the light throught them so with these easy relation with the exterior the different textures, materials, colors and lights invits people to come in and experience different ambients in the same space.
From the irregular layout of the space were defined three different moments, one is the preparation of the sushi, where the wall is lined with white tiles and the balcony is also white, making the space clean and open to the entrance.
The second and the central space is where people live the restaurant in their full experience. The material OSB covers the wall, ceiling, floor, chairs and tables giving a plasticity, texture ally to the color, that creats a cosy and warm ambient inviting people to stay.
The thirth space is all painted in black exept the wall that ends the space wich is covered with black tiles that gives a movement and a set of reflexions that plays very well with the OSB material. The floor is black cement except the central space, to make a continuous reading of the space.
The lights were a fundamental element to create these three different moments, two of them more steady and regular and the central and OSB covered, due to its color and texture it was filled with falling lights with different hights to create almost an installation.
