The form of the cottage is made up of two tectonically embedded wedge-shaped volumes. The roof planes of both volumes are rising against each other, forming a narrow row of slit skylights where they intersect, which brings light into the interior. The architectural concept works very well with the slightly sloping terrain. The cottage rises above its level, visually resting on a cranked plateau with two height levels.

The cottage is constructed using timber panels, which are rarely used in Slovakia. By alternating the planks of two different widths, grooves are created on the panel surface, which can be seen from both the exterior and interior of the cottage, adding a subtle pattern and detail to the large timber panels.

The attractiveness of this architecture springs from the dynamic form “hovering” in its beautiful nature surroundings. The solid wood construction lends itself naturally to the project. The scent of wood with the surrounding scenery and background sound of the flowing creek nearby seems like a perfect place to relax.
