FURNITURE

Mellow is a well-earned name for one sofa introduced by Bernhardt Design. The extremely comfy piece features a generous seating area and gently sloping arms that make perfect headrests and footrests should the sitter want to recline. Button tufted detailing and exposed cords that create support on the bottom add some character.

The Cross Side Table, designed by Matthew Hilton for Case, sports a compact footprint and a simple, single-leg frame that easily pulls up to and over armchairs and sofas to become an impromptu laptop desk. It comes in solid oak or walnut.

Coil + Drift’s Dusk Side Table plays on geometry, its brushed solid brass base (also specifiable in blackened steel) recalling facets of a gem with its angular construction. The top is offered in White Venato marble, Nero Durata marble, walnut or salvaged wood.

Designed by Brad Ascalon for Council, the Perimeter collection includes sofas and lounge chairs, all of which boast slim metal framing to support an upholstered seat shell. The cushions are offered with down or synthetic filling and in a range of fabrics.

Pylos Bench from Galanter & Jones looks like a concrete shell on steel legs, but it’s actually a seat of cast-stone that cleverly conceals an electric heating system for outdoor use. The seat comes in five colors while the steel base comes in four powder-coat colors.

Marble specialist Luce Di Carrara found a way to marry the elegant material with whimsy in its Molletta bench. Modeled after a clothespin, it’s constructed of statuario macchietta marble and raw cedarwood, with a metal detail in red or any other RAL color.

Stillfried Wien showed a stunning new wood furniture collection that it’s exclusively distributing in North America. Artisan includes chairs, armchairs, sofas, sideboards, tables and stools that boast smooth, seamless joinery in oak, maple, walnut, pear or cherry wood.

FINISHES

AJK Design Studio has taken grille designs to new heights — that is, the ceiling plane. Principal Annie Kantor’s new modular ceiling squares are laser-cut in steel, bronze, brass or aluminum in 16 patterns and 10 powder-coat colors. They can be fitted with acoustical material backing and are available in standard ceiling grid formats.

Artist Wayne White created a fantastical oasis for Brooklyn-based wallpaper company Flavor Paper. Titled Waynetopia, the digitally printed landscape mural takes inspiration from 19th-century scenic paintings and depicts blue skies, clouds, palm trees and hills to bring a bit of the outdoors in.

Unlike standard living or green walls, the products from Garden on the Wall don’t require sunlight, soil, water or misting. The maintenance-free greenery can be composed of a choice of 35 preserved plants, from flat moss and ferns to eucalyptus and flowered foliage.

Plexwood is a material composed of both end-grain and with-the-grain veneers that are glued crosswise to provide strength and an aesthetically intriguing line structure. It’s offered in 11 interior product groups that can be applied to walls, floors, steps, logos, ceilings and furniture.

Finnish company Polarmoss supplies preserved reindeer moss in an array of vibrant hues. The loose, raw material is well-suited to wall coverings and indoor decoration.

Semihandmade, which fabricates doors that can be fitted onto IKEA kitchen and storage furniture frames, added art to the mix at ICFF. The new Print line of cabinet doors features colorful and graphic works by the likes of the late Rex Ray, Erik Abel and Art of Board, to name a few, inkjet-printed onto high-quality veneers.

KITCHEN AND BATH

Duravit debuted its C-Bonded washbasins, which offer a clean, minimal look thanks to a unified vanity unit and sink. The company achieved this by developing a process that binds its DuraCeram material to the unit. Mitering at the edges is invisible to the eye and helps prevent cracks from accidental impact.

The Addison 5 from MTI Baths offers a luxurious and comfy soak while taking up less space than most other freestanding tubs with its 58-inch length. Made with the company’s proprietary engineered stone, in matte or gloss white or biscuit, the tub features an integrated overflow slot and can be fitted with a therapeutic air bath.

Brooklyn-based Watermark Designs showcased a striking yet minimal new kitchen faucet collection called TOD. The streamlined pipe-style fixtures sport low-profile escutcheons and textured band details. And handles are easy-to-activate joysticks.

HARDWARE

New in Baldwin Hardware’s Reserve line, the La Jolla Handleset is an attractive study in right angles. The square door hardware is solid forged brass with a Venetian bronze finish.

Musician-turned-interior-designer Lenny Kravitz has been surprising the A+D industry with his handsome product designs such as tiles for Lea Ceramiche. Now he forays into hardware for Rocky Mountain Hardware with the Trousdale collection. The architectural pieces — which include door levers, knockers, grips, knobs and escutcheons and a range of cabinetry hardware — sport sleek, smooth sides and a textured, druzy-like face. The collection is composed of bronze in 10 finish options.

ACCESSORIES

Haoshi’s clock designs are equal parts function and art. Its Swallow X Clock, for instance, features varied-sized white swallows in flight for each number position. The 12 delicate birds are made of resin. The clock hands and a template are included in each kit.

Fun yet utilitarian, Muuto’s The Dots is a simple knob-style hook that comes in three sizes for mixing and matching, creating a landscape on the wall. Each is made of oiled oak or ash wood, with the ash available in 14 colors.
