In collaboration with Architizer, Material Bank is delighted to host a Fall Design Your Impact series, an in-depth virtual live series on climate, human and social health. This free online event will take place from November 29 to December 9 2022, with six accredited sessions presented across four days.

We have thought leaders and industry partners joining us from Buro Happold, Cradle to Cradle Institute, Design for Freedom, Material ConneXion, Metropolis Magazine and RESET Certification. In what promises to be a highly educational series, experts will delve into the most relevant industry topics, including circularity of materials, measuring embodied carbon, understanding the risks around forced labor in construction, and much more.

Session 1: Achieving RESET Net Zero and Carbon Neutral in Office Interiors

Date/Time: 12pm ET, November 29, 2022
Special Guest: Raefer Wallis, Architect and Founder, GIGA

Architect and sustainability expert Raefer Wallis will explore the principles behind RESET, the world’s first building standard to assess and benchmark the health performance of buildings in real-time, and spotlight a case study that demonstrates the value of this new system.

Session 2: Circularity in Materials for Interiors | Cradle to Cradle Material Specification

Date/Time: 12pm ET, December 1, 2022 (double session, 2 x 30 minute presentations)
Special Guests: Andrew Dent, Executive Vice President, Research, Material ConneXion; Ren DeCherney, Built Environment Lead, Cradle to Cradle

This session aims to demystify the current thinking on end-of-life scenarios for interior materials. The presenters will look at the design and construction of the materials themselves, as well as installation methods and use cases that can potentially enable greater second use of these resources.

Session 3: Design for Freedom: Building a More Humane Future Without Forced Labor | The Embodied Suffering Toolkit
