A note from Marc Kushner, Co-founder of Architizer and practicing architect
With the extension of the Architizer A+Awards deadline to Friday, January 30th, we are thrilled to announce that Architizer has partnered with Phaidon — the premier global publisher of the creative arts with over 1,500 titles in print — to publish an annual compendium of the A+Award winners! The A+Awards program was developed to break architecture out of its insular echo chamber, and Phaidon could not be a better partner in achieving this goal!
The A+Awards are already the most visible awards program in architecture today. Thanks to partnerships with the Wall Street Journal Magazine, the Webbys, and dozens of other media outlets, we have created a program to tell the world about what architects do — and why it is so important. Last year, our winners received 100+ million media impressions.
The A+Awards were conceived to change the architecture awards model where traditionally architects judge architecture to tell other architects what is the best architecture. To that end, we’ve called on a jury of 300 experts from divergent fields like advertising, tech, politics, and developers (the people who actually hire architects), and the Phaidon book is the perfect way to extend our reach and spread the word about the world’s best architecture to a new audience.
Phaidon is headquartered in London and New York City and you are probably familiar with some of their seminal architectural publications:
All A+Award winners will be featured in the publication and will receive a complimentary copy of the book.
So what are you waiting for? Hurry up and enter the A+Awards before January 30, 2015.
