What was your first architecture/design job?

My first independent design job was a dream come true. It’s my favorite night club, Chervilo, which means “Lipstick.”

Who is your design hero and/or what is your favorite building?

Among many architects and designers: Toyo Ito and Shigeru Ban for their perseverance in design-making, and Marcel Wanders for his business ingenuity.

Among your fellow A+Award winners, what is/are your favorite(s)?

Our favorite project is the Autobahn Church in Wilnsdorf by Schneider+Schumacher.

Outside of architecture, where do you look for inspiration?

Fashion and music are my main inspirations. The pace of constant innovation and improvisation in the fashion industry definitely influences me as an interior designer. Neil Barrett, Tom Ford, Dior, and Martin Margiela are all brands that I admire. Music also gives me the right mood to work within. Music can influence the formation of my aesthetic criteria. Bands like Depeche Mode, RHCP, Kasabian, and Arctic Monkeys can often be heard from our office.

What do you find exciting about architecture and design right now?

As you may see in most of our projects, discrete geometry, space grids, and three-dimensional translations of 2D patterns are some of the things that make us excited.
