It goes without saying that 2020 has been a highly unusual year so far, with the Coronavirus outbreak bringing with it unprecedented challenges for architects, designers and others throughout the AEC industry.
As the 8th Annual A+Awards program has unfolded in parallel with world events, we’ve been receiving hundreds of messages from firms telling us of their desire to participate, but also struggling to do so on time given these trying times. This is completely understandable, and we hugely appreciate your candid communication. We’ve listened to these concerns, and are making it a priority to accommodate as many firms as possible during this unique edition of the A+Awards program.
For this reason, we’re happy to announce an an extension to the entry period for submissions until May 8th, 2020 at Midnight.
We truly believe in the power of great design to uplift the spirits of people through the architecture community and beyond. Since its inception, the A+Awards has provided a way for talented design professionals to showcase their creativity and innovation around the globe, regardless of firm size, location or project specialty. That’s why we are determined to give all architects, designers and manufacturers the additional time they need to submit their best work this year.
While there is a lot of uncertainty at the current moment, it’s worth considering the year-round benefits that participation in the A+Awards can bring, which promise to extend far beyond the timeline of this crisis.
The fully-online A+Awards program provides a platform for architects to market themselves internationally, something that could prove particularly valuable at a time when there are no physical events such as expos, conventions and conferences. Victorious firms can expect year-round exposure, with their work celebrated in the A+Awards Winners’ Gallery, Architizer’s 1.5M-strong Instagram channel and other social media. Winning architecture firms will also have their projects published in the next edition of Phaidon’s international publication “The World’s Best Architecture.“
A+Award-winning architecture firms will also earn themselves a spot in next year’s A+List, the definitive directory of the world’s most innovative architecture firms. Check out this year’s inaugural edition: 137 Architecture and Design Firms to Watch in 2020. If you need further convincing, check out our list of 10 Reasons You Should Enter the 8th Annual A+Awards.
We hope to see your firm light up this year’s A+Awards, and we’re aiming to step up our celebration of hard-working architects throughout this surreal period. If you have any questions at all about the program, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at awards@architizer.com.
Good luck from all of us at Architizer!
