Architizer celebrated the official opening of our brand-new headquarters last week with a launch party and exclusive talk by Dominic Leong of Leong Leong. We welcomed architects, industry partners and friends — including our amazing office product sponsors — into our space located in a modern Manhattan skyscraper that is quintessentially “New York.”

Upon entering the office, visitors were greeted by our signature LEGO logo, our Architizer neon sign and a draft table underneath the “Queue” LED suspension light by New York–based company Rich Brilliant Willing. Against the backdrop of our modern black-and-white office, RBW’s elegant light fixtures are UL-listed, making their intelligent and expressive design the best quality for our new home.

Before the night’s lecture by Dominic Leong, the first edition of our “Rendering to Reality” series, guests mingled in our new communal area — the perfect place to host small-to-large-scale gatherings. Visitors and team members chatted around our high tables stocked with wine and empanadas. During the workweek, we use this space for team lunches, informal meetings and birthday celebrations.

The tables, created by one-stop-shop office furniture brand Poppin, are ideal for a wide variety of uses. We chose their Series A Standing Meeting Tables for our community kitchen area as well as their Series A Double Desks for the workstation zones. Poppin’s Series A Double Desk Cable Hideaways and Stow 3-Drawer File Cabinets allow us to cleanly store our cables and computers in keeping with our slick, minimal office style.

Complementing our Series A desks are Clarity Chairs by Allsteel — purchased through Allsteel’s dealer partner W.B. Mason Interiors — which provide ergonomic support throughout the workday. This clean task chair, designed in collaboration with BMW Designworks USA, seamlessly fits within our contemporary office space.

Guests were also introduced to the latest piece of tech in our office: JOAN. The new JOAN Manager allows us to schedule any one of our five meeting rooms with impeccable energy efficiency. Powered by Visionect, JOAN connects to existing Google Calendars and online infrastructure to serve as a real-time virtual scheduling assistant, letting team members know when rooms are booked or free through a sleek touchscreen display that’s simply installed on our glass meeting room walls via a self-adhesive magnetic mount.

This high-tech equipment, coupled with our simple yet bold office decor, successfully communicates Architizer’s brand as a forward-thinking startup that is constantly striving to empower architecture. The office design creates a calm and collaborative environment for us to focus on transforming the industry one project at a time.

We’re excited to share our space for future events, from lectures and seminars to in-house socials and parties, as well as other gatherings focused on specific design trends or people making major moves in architecture and tech today. Our all-hands area, a versatile space equipped with television monitors and ample room for seating, allows us to produce these amazing events that connect our community with great ideas.

Stay tuned next week for an in-depth feature on Leong Leong and their groundbreaking Los Angeles LGBT Community Center. Thanks to all who attended and to our sponsors for helping us create a great space for Architizer to realize its goals!
