When designing a structure, architects seek to find the best materials and leading technologies that will elevate and bring their concept to life. In today’s market, there is an abundant selection of materials and design technologies to choose from, and because of that, it has become increasingly challenging for manufacturers to get their products noticed by designers.  When selecting a material or product, architects often listen to the opinions of their peers to make informed decisions. Having your product approved and praised by someone in the industry always works as a successful marketing tool. Word of mouth and the right relationships can go a long way in this cut-throat industry.

A second avenue to get your product noticed is by responding to a current issue in the design world. Providing solutions for architects through well-developed products will ensure your product is relevant and successful in today’s competitive market. There are countless marketing strategies out there — optimizing your website, telling a story, differentiating yourself — all of which are effective marketing tools. One powerful tool that combines these strategies is Architizer’s A+Product Awards.

The 2022 edition of the program is now under way, offering manufacturers an incredible marketing vessel. Architizer’s A+Product Awards were designed to help manufacturers and architects equally succeed in their trades. Manufacturers are encouraged to submit their cutting-edge products to one (or several) of 50+ award categories. Following submission, an impressive jury of over 200 renowned and specifying architects will judge, decide and pick the winning products of the year. Following this, a comprehensive list outlining the winners and best products from the A+Product Awards is published, which heavily circulates on a global scale.

The A+Product Awards offer the marketing benefits of a traditional publication mixed with the benefits of having your product acclaimed and supported by a panel of the globe’s leading architects. Architizer’s impressive global audience reaches over 400 million and is recognized as an important voice in design. Seizing the chance to have your product featured in the A+Product Awards is an opportunity not to overlook.

With three exciting new categories, the A+Product Awards look a little different this year. The award categories are split into two groups, “Product Type” and “Best of the Year.” Joining the “Best of the Year” group are the categories Architectural Design, Health and Wellness and Positive Impact. These three categories present new opportunities for manufacturers to market and showcase their innovative products.

1.  Architectural Design

Merging the gap between functionality and creativity is often a challenge for architects. Hence why products that serve both purposes are extremely sought after by designers. The Architectural Design Award recognizes products that are integral to a structure’s envelope and form. Products such as façade systems, cladding, glazing, doors, roofing and flooring are all eligible to apply. This award is perfect for manufacturers that have functional, flexible and aesthetically pronounced products which allow architects to realize their creative design while retaining the structure’s integrity.

2. Positive Impact

The world has lived through unprecedented times these past few years. Following a pandemic, an ongoing war, natural disasters, job losses and so much more, now more than ever we require architecture that responds to the hardships society and environments have faced. This year’s Positive Impact Award is dedicated to products that strongly impact and benefit society and the environment. Eligible products are those that demonstrate a strong humanitarian effort, products that are non-harmful to the environment and people, and products that are accessible to all socio-economic communities. This award is perfect for manufacturers who have an impactful and society-benefitting product they want to share with the world.

3. Health & Wellness

The healthcare sector has taken a hit these past few years while navigating a pandemic, making this award incredibly pertinent today. Now more than ever, health and wellness are a top priority and today we see a plethora of new wellness and medical care concepts emerging. This award is dedicated to innovative products and materials designed for healthcare and wellness settings. Any product designed for hospitals, clinics or temporary care facilities is eligible for this award. Moreover, products that can be implemented in wellness settings – such as spas, bathhouses, wellness retreats, bathrooms and bathhouses – are equally eligible to apply. Manufacturers boasting a product that benefits the medical and wellness sector are encouraged to apply for this award!

The deadline to apply to the A+Product Awards is soon approaching and we encourage all manufacturers with innovative products to throw their hat in this year’s competition:
