10 Predictions for the Future of Architecture

Architizer Editors Architizer Editors

On the final day of Future Fest, Architizer’s Editor in Chief Paul Keskeys is joined by Wandile Mthiyane, Founder of Ubuntu Design Group and The Anti-Racist Hot Dog, to give their thoughts on what comes next for the built environment — at every scale.

We also asked the audience to take part by giving us their boldest architectural predictions.

During this talk, you’ll learn:

  • How cities might evolve over the next 50 years to combat mounting challenges such as climate change, socio-economic inequality and overpopulation.
  • How individual buildings may set new benchmarks for the wider profession, from new forms of housing to high-tech construction techniques.
  • How the materials we have conventionally used in construction may be replaced by a new range of more sustainable, energy-efficient and resilient alternatives.
