When designing this new house in Mapo-gu, South Korea, SML was met with a host of challenges, among them: an awkward narrow lot, limited possibilities for direct sunlight and uneven terrain. Their final design, named SOSEUM, makes the most of the lot’s physical constraints thanks to narrow geometric shapes and a clever combination of concrete and glass. As a result, SOSEUM stands out – quite literally – in this suburb of Seoul.
