With a countless number of unused and forgotten building foundations in the urban area of Sapporo, Japan, Ryo Yamada envisioned transforming these desolate spaces into artful masterpieces. In this project, the basement of a building is transformed into a private garden with a collection of “Mirror Water Lilies”, which were specially designed for this space. This is not just another underground space, but a unique and captivating world hidden deep under a concrete building.
